NBT BANK PROMOTES TESTA, ALEXANDER

ALBANY, NY (May 24, 2022) –NBT Bank President of Commercial Banking Sarah Halliday announced the promotion of two Capital Region commercial banking executives.

Alfred Testa has been named Senior Vice President and Commercial Executive for the Capital District. Alan Alexander, Regional Commercial Banking Manager, has been promoted to Senior Vice President.

“Our Capital Region commercial teams have seen tremendous growth and success thanks to the contributions of Al and Alan,” Halliday said. “I’m looking forward to their continued impact as they take on these leadership roles and work closely with Ruth Mahoney, who was recently named NBT’s Regional President for the Capital District and North Country, in addition to her responsibilities as President of Wealth Management.”

Testa has more than 20 years of banking experience, including 11 years with NBT Bank. With his new role, he is now responsible for the commercial banking team and portfolio within the Capital Region. The team focuses on commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, healthcare, nonprofit and affordable housing customers. Testa has deep roots in the Capital Region, earning a bachelor’s degree from Siena College. He has completed both of NBT’s leadership development programs, Emerging Leaders and Star Impact. He has also been actively involved with several Capital Region nonprofit organizations and currently serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Northeastern NY.

Alexander joined NBT Bank in 2015 and has more than 28 years of banking experience. He is responsible for high-level development, implementation and oversight of Capital Region commercial lending strategies at NBT. He also serves on NBT’s Inclusion Roundtable and is a graduate of the company’s Emerging Leaders development program. A resident of Delmar, Alexander earned his master’s degree from the University at Albany and bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is currently treasurer and board member of the Advance Albany County Alliance Local Development Corporation, past president of the board of directors for Stakeholders Inc., and congregational president for Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
