NH CREDIT TEAM PROMOTIONS

MANCHESTER, NH (July 19, 2022) – NBT Bank announced the promotion of Tara Trafton to Chief Commercial Credit Officer. Trafton is responsible for overseeing commercial banking credit and policy for NBT Bank, working with commercial bankers across the bank’s seven-state footprint.

“We’re very proud to have Tara lead our enterprise-wide credit teams from right here in New Hampshire,” said New England Regional President Stephen Lubelczyk. “Her extensive experience will prove to be a great asset to customers and employees not only locally, but across our footprint.”

In addition, Rebekah Stone has been named Senior Credit Officer, and Regional Credit Officer Jeff Rochefort will take on an expanded role in the region.

Trafton joined NBT in 2014 as a Senior Commercial Banking Relationship Manager and later became Regional Credit Officer covering all New England regions. Prior to joining NBT, Tara spent 23 years at Citizens Bank as both a middle market relationship manager and in credit administration roles. Trafton earned a bachelor’s degree at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Stone's new responsibilities include credit approval in addition to loan underwriting in New England, and credit approval for franchise lending. She joined NBT in 2018 and has more than 17 years of banking industry experience. Prior to joining NBT, Rebekah spent 13 years at Citizens Bank, most recently as a portfolio manager in nonprofit and healthcare lending. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

Rochefort has been tasked with increased credit authority and responsibilities in New England and a senior role maintaining and updating credit policy in addition to his ongoing credit support for Aircraft Lending. He joined NBT in 2014 and has more than 26 years of banking experience. Prior to joining NBT, Jeff spent 14 years with Citizens Bank as a collateral field examiner and a senior portfolio manager in middle market and nonprofit and healthcare lending. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a bachelor’s degree from Bentley University.
