Important Merger Dates

The timeline below features important dates as we approach the merger. The official merger date is scheduled for May 2, 2025.

  • March 5, 2025

    Account Information Guides mailed.

    The Account Information Guide is a critical document containing information about your accounts and any changes that may occur with the merger. Pay close attention to the Personal Checklist (PDF) and Business Checklist (PDF). You can also access an online version of the Account Information Guide (PDF).

  • Monday, April 14, 2025

    Your new NBT Bank VISA® Debit Card is being mailed and will arrive soon.

    You will be able to activate your new card, but it will not be ready to use for purchases or payments until after 6:30 p.m. EST. on Friday, May 2, 2025. For security purposes, after the merger, you can shred your Evans Bank Mastercard® Debit Card.

    Pre-merger communications sent to applicable customers.

    This may apply to, but is not limited to, customers who have specific deposit products, business accounts, government banking services, mortgage or line of credit holders, or cash management services.

    These communications contain important information about specific changes to your account. While not all letters require action, it is essential to read them carefully to stay informed.

  • Friday, May 2, 2025

    Evans Bank branches will be open until 12 p.m. EST.

    Access to Evans Online Banking will be available until 4 p.m. EST on Friday, May 2, 2025. You can begin using NBT Digital Banking midday on Monday, May 5, 2025.

    Any time after 6:30 p.m. EST on Friday, May 2, 2025, you can begin using your NBT Bank VISA® Debit Card.

  • Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4, 2025

    All Evans Bank offices will be closed for business as we transition branches to NBT Bank.

    As noted above, you can begin using your NBT Bank VISA® Debit Card any time after 6:30 p.m. EST on Friday, May 2, 2025.

  • May 2, 2025 - September 2025

    Post-merger communications sent to applicable customers.

    This may apply to, but is not limited to, customers who have specific deposit products, business accounts, government banking services, mortgage or line of credit holders, or cash management services.

    These communications contain important information about specific changes to your account. While not all letters require action, it is essential to read them carefully to stay informed.

    All Evans Bank branches will open as NBT Bank offices at their regular business hours.

    Your Evans Bank Mastercard® Debit Card will be deactivated on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 9 a.m. EST.
