NEW RESPONSIBILITIES FOR NBT BANK LEADERS

NORWICH, NY (June 29, 2017) – NBT Bank President and CEO John H. Watt, Jr. announced that several leaders in the company have assumed new responsibilities in the areas of Consumer Lending, Credit Administration and Risk Management, including Kurt Edwards, Shauna Hyle, Amy Wiles and Terra Carnrike-Granata.

“The NBT team has a deep bench with many experienced leaders who have the capacity and flexibility to take on new responsibilities as the Bank continues to grow and evolve in the dynamic financial services industry,” said Watt. “Kurt, Shauna, Amy and Terra are talented individuals who have demonstrated their ability to lead strong teams and drive strategic initiatives.”

Senior Vice President Kurt Edwards is now Chief Consumer Credit Officer. Edwards’s career with NBT has spanned 33 years, and he has held leadership roles in consumer lending and small business banking. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business and economics from SUNY Plattsburgh and has completed management development courses through the American Bankers Association and the American Institute of Banking. Edwards is a resident of Norwich and long-time volunteer with youth football programs in the area. He serves as a board member for the Otis A. Thompson Foundation and is a Leadership Chenango graduate.

Senior Vice President Shauna Hyle has assumed the position of Consumer Lending Executive. Hyle joined NBT in 2008 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Chief Risk Officer in 2013. Prior to joining NBT, she was a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Hyle earned her a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Geneseo and is a certified public accountant. She is a Norwich resident, has served on the Commerce Chenango Finance Committee and is a graduate of Leadership Chenango.

Senior Vice President Amy Wiles has assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer in addition to her responsibilities as Chief Credit Officer. Wiles has over 35 years of experience in commercial banking. Prior to joining NBT in 2015, she held positions with KeyBank and JP Morgan Chase. Wiles earned her bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. She is a resident of Hamilton and currently serves as a board member of Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County, Inc.

Vice President Terra Carnrike-Granata has been promoted to Director of Information Security. She joined NBT in 2008 as Information Security Officer and was promoted to Information Security and Fraud Risk Manager in 2015. Carnrike-Granata earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Albany’s School of Criminal Justice and holds the globally-recognized CompTIASecurity+ certification. A resident of Guilford, she has been a volunteer with Chenango United Way since 2010 and currently serves as board chair.
